What makes it especially great was being nominated by a fellow writer, whose writing is excellent, and whom I had the pleasure of sharing first place with on Tipsy Lit’s prompted! I present to you Sue Blake of Sweet FA by Blake!
The rules of the Liebster award are as follows:
1) Link to the person who nominated you
2) Answer their questions
3) Nominate new blogs for the award
4) Ask them 10 new questions
5) Let the nominees know they have been nominated
So here goes:
What has been the most enjoyable or interesting aspect of writing your blog?
It has to be the people. I was surprised at how much support and encouragement I have gotten so far and I don’t think I would have done nearly as many posts without it.
Which fictional character’s blog would you most like to follow?
This is a hard one…mmm…I think Suze Simon from the Mediator series by Meg Cabot. This blog would be particularly entertaining since Suze sees ghosts and happens to have a very sexy ghost occasionally hanging around her and providing riveted readers (i.e. me) with the necessary love interest.
If you were a superhero what special powers would you have and what would be your cool superhero name?
I’d have the ability to write an entire book in a day and to remember every word I ever read. My name would be Scribe.
What makes you feel sentimental?
Unexpected and unforeseen kindness
Pick a favourite lyric from a song?
The book of love is long and boring…But I, I love it when you read to me.
What was the last movie or TV show that made you laugh out loud?
Fairy Tale – Japanese Anime (I hope that counts)
When was the last time you did a little dance of joy that probably looked a bit embarrassing?
A couple nights ago, on my way to making myself some noodles, in the middle of the night.
What do you like most about where you’re living now?
Is there anything that you just don’t get? (E.g. “I just don’t get video games/Twitter/UGG boots… I mean what’s that all about?!”)
In Nigeria, people have this saying when they are eating and you are not – ‘Come Join Me’ (say you walk into a room and find someone settling down to a meal); it doesn’t matter if they are practically strangers to you. This baffles me because
a) They are actually inviting you to eat out of their plate, which is gross unless I have known you for ten years or more.
b) What if I said yes? Is the answer always supposed to be no?
c) What if I said yes, and took their chicken, which they had probably been saving for last.
With the 2014 football World Cup now in its knock-out stages, can you make a prediction of the result in the final? (N.b. it’s a perfectly acceptable answer to say “I’m really really really not interested in football!)
When Nigeria lost, everyone was sort of quiet. My brother walked upstairs and wouldn’t talk to us. I, for one, felt…not very much. So I couldn’t possibly predict. Not invested in the outcome.
My Nominees are:
Arty Living: A great blog if you are looking for art and arty entertainment in Lagos
The Universe According to Snow White: This blog is raw, witty and moving. Plus I love the title.
SaraWriter: I feel a certain kinship with SaraWriter who has to conquer her procrastination and write, write, write!
YoursTruly-Uche: Uche has an extremely witty and sharp voice. She also coins Lagos beautifully.
Kiwibeeblogger: I enjoy the journal style of blogging and her writing is a pleasure to read.
My questions for them are:
1) Why did you start your blog?
2) What is the most obscure ending to a book that you have ever come across
3) What is the worst piece of writing you have created?
4) Do you ever write to music? If you do, what songs do you listen to?
5) Who is your greatest inspiration as a writer?
6) If you could rename yourself, what name would you choose?
7) If you could commit a crime, and never have to suffer the consequences, what crime would you commit?
8) What is the most irritating thing a person can do to you?
9) What do you do when you are not blogging?
10) Which blog is your favourite blog?
P.S. I just noticed that Kiwibee has been nominated several times and since there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with that…I am adding to my nomination – SweetFAbyBlake – I enjoy her fiction and I like the way her mind works.
